The assumption here is that you are Registering or Updating your Alumni Directory listing.

How to Find Facebook Name and ID

NOTE: You must have your Facebook privacy settings set to allow this. If you don't want to have a limited version of your profile available for non-Facebook users, then don't bother filling out the Facebook Name and Facebook ID fields. You can still check that you have a Facebook listing in the Wayne Alumni Registration or Update Listing form, but it will just show the icon and link to the main Facebook page.

  1. To find you Facebook Name and ID, Log into Facebook and go to your Settings>Privacy.
  2. Find the line that says - Create a public search listing for me and submit it for search engine indexing (see preview) and ensure the box is checked.
  3. Click on the text (see preview)
  4. The browser address bar should display something like http://www.facebook.com/home.php#/people/Brian-Donovan/749583590
  5. For your Facebook Name, copy your name that appear after /people/ but before the ID. Don't copy the slashes, just the name.
  6. Paste that info in the Facebook Name field in the Wayne Alumni Registration form or Update Listing form
  7. Copy the ID that appears after your name into the Facebook ID field on the Wayne Alumni Registration or Update Listing form. (For instance, mine is 749583590
  8. Click Save Settings in Facebook.
  9. Finish filling out the Wayne Alumni Registration or Update Listing form, then click Submit
  10. Thats it! This will allow a link to your public Facebook Profile.
