Login, Password FAQ's
What is the login for?
For updating your own listing. It is also required to upload photos to your Bio. In the future, more features may be available to only registered users.
Do I have to login every time I visit?
No. Only if you want to change your listing or upload a photo. Or see other's email addresses.
I am listed now, but it was a while ago and my email address has changed. What do I have to do to login?
Go to the "Add Me" link and re-register. You will have a duplicate entry, but it can be deleted. Let me know if you have two entries.
I am listed now, but it was a while ago and I can't see my address, so I'm not sure if it is right.
The simplest thing to do is just re-register, unless you are trying to register the same email address, then you must contact me so I can delete your old one. Or, you could find your name in the directory and try to contact yourself. If you don't receive the mail, you need to go to "Add Me" and create a new listing. If you do get it, just go to "Forgot Password".
My existing email is good, what do I have to do to login?
- If you registered after Mar. 7, 2006 around 6PM and had to choose a password and activate your account, just click Login on the directory page navigation menu.
- If you were listed here before Mar. 7, 2006 with an email address that still works, in the navigation menu on the Directory page, click "Forgot Password". Here you be prompted to enter your email address. A new password will be sent to that email address.
- After receiving the new password, you can login. If you would like to change your password to something else, click on "Change Password". (You must already be logged in to do this)
How do I update my listing after I get a password?
- Go to the Alumni Directory
- Click Login in the Navigation window
- Enter your email and password
- Click on your decade in the navigation menu
- Find your listing in the table
- There should be an Edit field in the last column of the table. Click on the word edit in Your row.
- All your info should appear on a form. Be sure to enter your password again in the first field.
- Change your info (Bio, location, email) and click submit
How do I see others Email addresses?
When logged in, if you click edit on the row of the person you are interested in, you will see their info, but you won't be able to edit. The email is displayed there.
How is my privacy protected?
We have gone to great lengths to eliminate the email address from the html pages. Everything is done with a contact form and database. There is always a possibilty someone who is registered with the site could get your email, but less likely that some anonymous user will get it.
Where is the login?
The login is available in any of the directory pages.

General FAQ's
When did this web site begin?
In the Fall of 1997.
Is this web site affiliated with any organization?
Not really. The Wayne Central School District allowed us to locate on their web server from 1997 until 2005 and they continue to provide a link to our pages.
Who runs this site?
This was started and is still maintained by Class of 74 Alumni Brian Donovan.
Why?
He must have been bored one day.
Is Brian Donovan related to Linda Donovan the former Wayne math teacher?
No. But she was my daughter's favorite math teacher.
I want to submit a picture from my class reunion, how do I do it?
Best way for now:
- E-mail it to: bdonova1@rochester.rr.com
- E-mail (see contact information below) for his street address and mail a print to him and he can scan it.
I want to have my yearbook cover scanned, but don't have a scanner. How do I do it?
Maybe you have a friend who can scan it, or maybe where you work, or possibly a library might have a scanner. If not, you could mail the yearbook to (see contact information below) and he will scan it and return it. See above.
Any tips on scanning yearbook?
Yes. When scanning, see if your scanner software has a setting Descreen. I know HP does. This eliminates annoying moire patterns (cross-hatching). Also, if black and white, use a b&w or greyscale setting. And if there is a setting for magazine, or picture and text, use that. When the scan is complete, save as a JPEG (.jpg) format. I wouldn't attemp to resize the scan, but you could crop anything beyond the margins if you would like to minimize the file size. I can crop, straighten, resize, and enhance the resulting scan.
I want to have a web page for my Class. How do I do it?
Any submissions are welcome, and we now have more capabilities for access. If you can create web pages and want to have a page for your class reunion, other sports team, etc, best to contact Brian Donovan and discuss how to do this.
I would like to add my name, but I am afraid of making my e-mail address public.
We no longer publish mailto: links in the html of the directory pages. So I believe we are fairly secure, but I would suggest getting one of the free web-based e-mail accounts (free) from Yahoo, Hotmail, Google, etc. These can be accessed from any computer with Internet capability and are disposable. That is if there is ever a problem, just abandon the address and get a new one. Keep a primary account via your Internet Service Provider (AOL, RoadRunner, Etc) that you only share with friends and family but use the web based one for places like Wayne Alumni and when some form you fill out to win free stuff asks for an e-mail address.
I want to see e-mail addresses of some of my former teachers. Why are there so few?
Maybe they don't know about it or would rather not hear from certain former students?
I already entered my name on Classmates.com. Why should I add it here?
Because other than seeing your name listed, you can't do much without paying Classmates.com a subscription fee. Someone has to pay for all that advertising. The lists here let you contact your classmates without requiring a registration or a fee.
