Robert Wambach


Ontario: February 4th, 2011 at age 77. Mr. Wambach died at his home in Ontario, NY, surrounded by family members, ending a valiant battle against Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma. He married his life long partner and best friend, Lucia Molino on Sept.13, 1958 & raised four wonderful children. In addition, Mr. Wambach noted that he not only married a wonderful woman, but gained another wonderful family, the Molinos. Mr. Wambach served in the U.S. Army, having entered service in late 1953, while the Korean War was still in progress. After basic training at Camp Polk, LA, he was sent to radio school in Stuttgart, Germany & was stationed in Augsburg as a radio operator. He was honorably discharged after achieving the rank of Corporal. He returned to Ontario to raise a family & enjoyed a 37 year career at Delco Products/GMC, retiring in 1992 as a Senior Manufacturing Engineer. He served as a member of the Ontario Volunteer Emergency Squad for 10 years & was active in the Rochester Genealogy Society. He is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Lucia (Molino); daughters, Karen Merritt (Lance), Teresa Stockschlaeder (Jim), Margaret Rubin (Robert); son Robert Jr. (Lynn); 7 grandchildren; sisters, Florence Karn (Phil), Evelyn LeVay (John); brother Don (Barbara); many in-laws & cousins. His loved ones will miss his kindness, wit & wonderful sense of humor. The family wishes to thank Lifetime Assistance Hospice nurses for their compassion & guidance & the Molino family for their love & support. Friends may attend calling hours Tuesday 4-7PM at MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 1961 Ridge Rd., Ontario, where his Memorial Service will be held 10AM Wednesday.
