Dean Brimacomb


PITTSBURG, NH -- Mr. Dean Brimacomb, 67, of Pittsburg, NH, passed away early Monday morning, May 30, 2011, at the Upper Connecticut Valley Hospital in Colebrook, NH.

Dean was born on December 25, 1943, in Rochester, NY, a son to Howard W. and Irene (Bowersox) Brimacomb. He graduated in 1962 from Wayne Central High School in Ontario Center, NY. He served with honor and distinction in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1962-66 and was a veteran of the Vietnam conflict.

Dean’s working career was in the construction industry, and he worked for several years for the Otis Elevator Company. He was a construction superintendent at the Washington, DC, convention center at the time of his retirement.

After retiring, he and his wife moved to Pittsburg, NH. While in Pittsburg, Dean served the town as sexton of the town cemeteries for a few years, and he became a friend to many. He was a member of the VFW and the American Legion in Maryland, and he was a member of the Aurora Grange #235 in Pittsburg. He was a generous craftsman, never accepting anything for the things he would create and give away.

He leaves behind his beloved wife, Henrietta “Hank” (Finucane) of Pittsburg; his mother, Irene Brimacomb of Clifton Springs, NY; a sister, Karen Walters of Clifton Springs, NY; his brothers and sisters-in-law, John & Lois Finucane of Lancaster, NY; Mary and Tom McClary of Lancaster, NY, and Bob and Marge Cieslica of Orchard Park, NY; and many, many good friends.

Dean is preceded in death by his father; his brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Gloria Brimacomb; and a sister, June Sharkey.

There will be no public calling hours. A memorial service, with Marine Corps honors, will be at 1 p.m. on Friday, June 10, 2011, at the Farnham Memorial United Methodist Church in Pittsburg, NH.
