Walworth: Ray passed away peacefully at home on the evening of September 12, 2023, surrounded by his devoted family and a couple of special friends. Ray, by the grace of God, courageously battled the advancing disease known as C.A.D. A. S. I. L. for many years. Ray was born in Rhode Island, but then later moved with his family to Walworth, NY where he graduated from Wayne Central High School. This is where he went on to plant his own family with his beloved wife Michelle, whom he had met while in Rhode Island. Ray is predeceased by his parents, Eugene and Norma, as well as his youngest sister, Linda. Ray is survived by his wife of 36 years, Michelle; their four incredible children, Rachel (Benjamin Rodriguz III), Joseph (Jessica Privitera), Raymond III, Emily (Jason Crawford II); along with his siblings, Diane Snow, Jeanne (Mike Steffler), and Joanne Myers. Ray was fiercely competitive and equally as encouraging. He often used his unmatched humor to show his love to those around him and to encourage others to challenge themselves to do good works and to accomplish things that are worthwhile. Ray was a competitive arm wrestler and held the title of Fly Weight Champion. He enjoyed sharing techniques and fondness for the sport with the whole family, boys and girls alike. Ray loved the outdoors and his enthusiasm for it was infectious, drawing in others to participate in whatever he was doing. Ray was also an avid cyclist, and this allowed him to combine his competitive nature, love of the outdoors, love for people and desire to support his favorite charities, the top two being NCMEC (National Center for Missing and Exploited Children) and Camp Good Days. Ray had numerous natural giftings and talents that he freely shared with others. Ray spent his earlier days as a purchasing manager and later went on to become a successful automotive salesman. He loved anything to do with numbers and excelled in mental mathematics, and really, anything he put his hands to. The entire family will continue to reap the benefits of a gentle man/gentleman who walked with God, loved his family, protected them and lived his life bravely, loyally, always seeing the glass half full. The fruit of Ray's life is his legacy, and what a legacy he has left for all who have been privileged to know him. Please join the family on September 29, 2023, at 11am, at the Calvary Chapel of Webster, 770 Basket Road. Webster, NY 14580 to celebrate his life! There will be a time of fellowship after the service! We hope to see you!
