Recent Obituaries

Many of these classmates passed away much too young and did not have a chance to have an impact in the world or leave a legacy. They did have an impact in the lives of their classmates and though they may be gone, they are not forgotten by the friends who knew them.

Roxanne Schultz Lanni - Class of 1972

Ontario: Entered into rest on July 31, 2008 in her 54th year. Survived by her beloved husband, Raymond Lanni; loving sons, Thomas Parks of Ontario and Michael Lanni at home; daughters, Christina (Marty) Harrelson of Frisco, TX and Paulette Lanni of Frisco, TX; special grandchildren, Micaela, Jacob, Emma and Anthony Harrelson; loving and devoted parents, James and Joan (Tack) Schultz of Ontario; sister, Linda (Jeffrey) Cottrell of Williamson; brothers, Wayne (Susan) Schultz of Williamson, David (Terry) Schultz of Sodus, Gary Schultz of Lyons and Jeffrey Schultz of Bath; special niece, Johanna Cottrell; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other family members and friends. She worked for Hegedorn's Bakery in Webster for 35 years.

Patrick T. Martin - Staff/Guidance

Ontario: Died on July 6, 2008 at age 76. Predeceased by his wife Judith. Survived by his children, Leeland Martin (Angela Durham), Scott (Kimberly) Martin, Sally (C.J.) Zimmerman; 4 grandchildren, Patrick, Jaycie, Robert, Caroline Zimmerman; mother-in-law Alice Smith; a niece & a nephew. Friends are invited to call Thursday 5-8PM at MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 1961 Ridge Rd., Ontario. His Funeral Service will be held 10AM Friday at St. Paul's Catholic Church, Webster. Burial at Furnaceville Cemetery. Donations may be made to a charity of one's choice in his memory.

Jeff Wilcox - Class of 1985

Ontario: Died on April 25, 2008 at age 41. Survived by his wife Mary Ellen; children, Trevor & Jessica; parents, Larry & Gale Wilcox; sister Jill Zaborowski; nephews, Jcaob & Nicholas. Friends are invited to call on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9PM at MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 1961 Ridge Road, Ontario, where his funeral service will be held 1PM Wednesday. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to a trust fund at Xerox Federal Credit Union established in his son Trevor's name.

Arthur (Andy) Arnold - Class of 1994

Arthur (Andy) Arnold class of 1994, Died suddenly on Sat. April 19,2008, age 31. He leaves his parents, Arthur & Leonajane; brother James (Corrie); son Jacob; grandfather Donald Fiaretti; nephew Jesse; niece Brooke; uncle Walter Arnold and many beloved friends.

Friends are invited to his Funeral Service 11:00am Saturday at Calvary Chapel of Webster, 770 Basket Rd. Webster. Interment Webster Rural Cemetery. Memorials may be directed to a trust fund being established for Jacob. Arr: Willard H. Scott Funeral Home.

Walter Beecher - Faculty

Gananda: February 28, 2008, died peacefully after a long illness of multi-systems atrophy and kidney disease, age 74. He served in the military during the Korean Conflict, he taught high school science for 31 years. Walter is survived by his loving wife, Jeanne; aunt, Rosemary Beecher; cousins, Ted, Tom, Marcia, Stewart, Cindy, Sally and their families; sister, Barbara and her family; and many friends.

A celebration of his life will be held at the Sodus Bay Yacht Club where he was a member for 43 years. Come share a memory on March 16th at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Kidney or Parkinson research, the R.P.O. or a charity of your choice.

Vicky Hill Trimble - Class of 1967

Vicky L. (Hill) Trimble Trimble, Vicky L. (Hill) Sodus Point: Formerly of Ontario. Died on February 9, 2008 surrounded by her family. Survived by her husband Harris; children, Tammy (Tom) McGahan, Matthew Trimble; grandchildren, Cullen, Cade; parents, Molly & Larry Hill; brother, Kevin Hill; several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews.

Richard G. Ficarra - Class of 1964

Died after a courageous battle with cancer on December 30, 2007, at age 60. Survived by his wife Patricia; sons, Richard (Barbara), Robert (Victoria); 4 grandchildren, Ann, Travis, Ryan, Jessica; siblings, Peter Ficarra, William (Laura) Ficarra, Barbara Ficarra, Anthony Ficarra; mother-in-law Leta Mitchell; brothers-in-law, Perry Mitchell (Nora), William Mitchell (Anne), James (Marsha) Mitchell; many nieces, nephews & cousins.

Timothy P. Dennie M.D. - Class of 1996

Walworth: Tues., Nov. 20, 2007 age 29. Barbara Tiffany Ouellette - Class of 1973

Barbara Jean Ouellette, 51, of Wichita Falls, passed away early Saturday morning June 16, 2007. She was a loving mother, a Godly woman, and an example of friendship to all who knew her. Barbara was born on November 20, 1955, in Rochester, New York. She married her late husband, Joseph Zoel Ouellette Jr., in August of 1973. Together they raised five children in a joyful and loving home. She was a faithful member of the Life Tabernacle Church family for almost 30 years. Barbara always wanted to be a teacher. She taught Sunday school at her home church for the last 25 years and since graduating from Midwestern State University in 1996 taught at Alamo Elementary. She was the youngest child of George Edward Tiffany, Jr. and Ruth Mildred Keever, and was preceded in death by her daughter Michelle Ruth, her husband Joseph Zoel, and both parents. Survivors include her boys, Joseph James of Wichita Falls, Jason Keith of Ft. Worth, David Keith, and Brandon James both of Wichita Falls; her sister Ann Emory of Wichita Falls, her brother George Tiffany of Rochester, New York, and another brother, James Tiffany of Wichita Falls; her step-father Harry Keever of Wichita Falls; and many other family members and friends.

John W. Cooper - James Beneway High School Principal

Greensboro, GA: Age 61 died Thursday, July 26, 2007. In addition to his wife of 37 years, Stephanie Barton Cooper, of Canandaigua, NY, and Greensboro, GA, he is survived by a daughter, Tara Cooper Davidson and husband Gene of Alpharetta, GA; a son, John K. Cooper and wife Cynthia of Chattanooga, TN; a sister, Elaine Bennett and husband Bill of Jonesboro, TN; two grandsons, Cooper Russell Davidson and Zachary Cooper; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Born on January 18, 1946 in Queens County, New York, he was the son of the late John Howard Cooper and Mildred Margaret Haemer Cooper. He graduated from Guilderland Central High School and went onto earn his BS from SUNY/ Cortland, his MS from Syracuse University and his Ed.D from SUNY/Albany. John was inducted into the athletic Hall of Fame at SUNY/Cortland. During his career, John was a high school principal at Wayne Central Schools, Ontario, NY; Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction in the Canandaigua Greater Schools District and Superintendent at Hilton School District. After retiring, he continued to consult with the Charter Schools in both Buffalo and Syracuse. His last and most exciting education challenge was to be the Founding Headmaster and start from ground zero creating the new Redeemer Episcopal Academy in Greensboro, GA John left footprints in every school and in every administrative class he taught at SUNY/ Brockport. He was admired by his colleagues, Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, July 31, 2007 at 10:30 a.m. at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer in Greensboro with The Reverend D. Geoffrey Taylor officiating. Serving as pallbearers are Mike Battaglia, Bob Cowles, Jay Pullin, Jim Fleece, Gene Davidson, Brad Morgan, Edward Wiseman and Steve Josh. A reception will follow in the church activities center. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The family requests that in lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Dr. John Cooper, Headmaster Scholarship Fund, Redeemer Episcopal Academy, Salem Walk, Suite 2, Greensboro, GA 30642. Thomas Monahan - Class of 1977

Monahan, Thomas Age 49, suddenly on 5/9/07. Laguna Beach CA., formerly of Ontario. Survived by parents, John and Alinda; children, Nicolas and Kristin; granddaughter, Zoe; sister, Jackie and Jim; brother, Patrick and Cindi. A private family service will be held.

John H. Sullivan - Class of 1972
PORTLAND OREGON/ONTARIO, NY: 53, April 21st. John leaves behind his wife, Patricia Lackaff; stepdaughters, Margi Ahn and Amanda Materi; stepson, Sean Materi; parents, Emily and Joe; sister, Jayne (Michael) Malcolm of Sodus Point and brother, Steve (Georgia) Savannah, GA; nieces & nephews Jennifer, Jessie, Nicole, Bill & Grant John, graduated from Wayne Central, Ontario, NY, and East Stroudsburg College in PA, and moved to Portland, OR, in 1978 and was a self-employed luthier.

William Thurston 1959-2007

Bill was an active 1977 classmate. He will be missed by so many who loved him greatly. Bill is survived by his wife, Brenda, of 25 years and his 17-year-old son, Trent.

He is also survived by his mother and two brothers, Keith and Aaron. Bill was a VP at John Marshall High School where was respected and loved by his many colleagues and especially his students.
